Opportunity:
RN BMT/ONC (10000205 - Cellular Therapies Unit)
Job Details:
* Rotating schedule with various days of the week
* Weekend shifts required based on unit needs
* No on-call requirements
* 51-bed unit caring for patients with blood cancers receiving chemotherapy, biotherapies, and cellular therapies including stem cell transplants and CAR-T
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 3-4:1, with ratios that may flex up based on staffing and unit needs
* Must be comfortable working in environments with flexible staffing ratios
* Float between BMT/Oncology and Cellular Therapies Unit (CTU) as needed
* May float to sister facilities based on facility needs within the metro region
* Charting system: Epic (experience required)
* Scrub color: Navy
* Patients are adults only
* 2 years of acute care BMT/Hematology experience required along with chemotherapy administration experience
* Travel experience required
* First-time travelers not accepted
* Required certifications: AHA BLS, ONC certification, CO or Compact RN License, Chemo (ONS/ONCC)
* Required skills include: administration of chemotherapy (IV push, continuous infusion, oral), CAR-T, bone marrow administration, blood and blood product administration, central line care and blood draw, care and management of ports, chest tube care and management, management and disposal of cytotoxic spills, neutropenic precautions, stem cell therapies, anaphylaxis management, and recognition and communication of abnormal lab values
