RN Mother Baby/Couplet Care/Post Partum
Job Details:
* Rotating shifts with various days of the week
* Weekend shifts required per unit needs; for nights: minimum 5 Friday/Saturdays and 2 Sundays per six-week schedule
* On-call required per unit needs, approximately 1-2 times per 6-week schedule
* Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract
* RTO not allowed during the following blackout periods: September 2?September 12, 2026; October 25?November 4, 2026; November 22?December 2, 2026; December 20?January 3, 2027
* Minimum 1 year of Mother Baby/Couplet Care/Postpartum specialty experience required
* Travel experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP
* Valid RN license (state or compact) required
* Epic charting system experience preferred
* Community hospital experience preferred
* Self-scheduling model
* Patient ratios: 1:3 couplets or up to 6 patients on days, nights, and weekends
* 32-bed unit
* Float required: Antepartum-trained nurses may float to L&D with fetal monitoring experience
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* Care for postpartum patients who do not require ICU-level care, including high-risk patient populations
* Care for antepartum patients with fetal monitoring experience
* Care for newborn patients who do not require NICU-level care, including infants 2000gm and above, late preterm, and substance-exposed newborns
* Administer and manage magnesium drips, insulin drips, heparin drips, and PCA/PCEA pumps
* Provide phototherapy and breastfeeding support for postpartum patients
* Utilize special equipment including JADA and Bakri devices
* Required skills include: administration of blood and blood products, antepartum care, antihypertensives, antiseizure medications, couplet care, newborn assessment, postpartum hemorrhage management, external fetal heart monitoring, magnesium sulfate therapy, phototherapy, phlebotomy, IV insertion and maintenance, and breastfeeding instruction, among others
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, and rapid response teams

The Mother Baby unit is a 32-bed department equipped to care for a high-risk patient population, including antepartum and postpartum patients, late preterm infants, substance-exposed newborns, and patients requiring specialized interventions. The facility utilizes Epic for charting and provides access to a wide range of support services to ensure quality patient outcomes.
