Opportunity:

RN - Postpartum

Job Details:

* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* Travel experience required - does not accept first-time travelers
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP
* Charting system experience required: Epic
* Weekend shifts required to meet staffing needs
* Floating may be required to NICU or L&D
* Care for patients following post-partum vaginal or cesarean delivery
* Perform tubal ligation and circumcision support care
* Provide care for GYN surgeries, couplet care, low risk antepartum, and transition nursery patients
* Administer blood and blood products
* Manage drains, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, and syringe pumps
* Utilize wound vac as needed
* Administer heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate
* Provide OB-GYN, post-op care, and post vaginal delivery care
* Manage postpartum re-admissions
* Provide normal newborn care including thermoregulation and glucose management
* Skills required include: postpartum care, discharge teaching to parents, infant identification, newborn assessment, phototherapy, thermoregulation, newborn hypoglycemia management, post-epidural management, pain assessment and management, PCA use, bladder assessment and Foley catheter insertion, breastfeeding instruction, episiotomy and incision care, fundus, lochia, and perineum care, breast pump use, vaginal delivery and cesarean section care, postpartum hemorrhage management, and pregnancy-induced hypertension care
* Patient age groups include adolescents, infants, and adults
* 16-bed unit
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
