Job Details:

* Three 12-hour night shifts per week, including weekdays and weekends
* Patient ratio of 1:2 based on acuity, with possible overflow patients requiring step-down level of care
* Must have ACT (Activated Clotting Time) experience
* Must be experienced in direct fresh open-heart admissions from the OR
* Must be experienced in pressure monitoring and Swan-Ganz management
* Must be experienced in Impella monitoring and CRRT
* Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (must be through American Heart Association)
* Cerner EMR system used for charting
* Scrubs not provided
* Blocked schedules will be considered
* May occasionally float to Medical ICU or Step Down Unit
* Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
* Skills required include arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care and management, continuous IV sedation, CABG, CVA/acute stroke management, CVVHD/CRRT, Impella, interpretation of arterial blood gases, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IABP, post cardiac surgery care, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, sheath removal, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, TAVR, valve repair and replacement, ventilator management, and ventricular assist device management
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
* Special equipment used includes Impella CP and IABP
* WV or Compact License required; pending license accepted for submission

Facility:

This facility is home to a 10-bed Cardiac Care Unit that primarily cares for cardiothoracic surgery patients, including CABGs, open valve replacements, thoracotomies, carotid endarterectomies, and more. The unit also cares for complicated cardiac cath lab patients, medical cardiology patients, STEMIs, cardiogenic shock patients, and post-code patients. The facility offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support services and is equipped with advanced cardiac monitoring and intervention technology.
