RN - Progressive Care / Trauma Surgical

Job Details:

* 2 years of experience required in specialty
* Travel experience required
* Level 1 trauma center experience required
* Experience with trauma surgical patient populations, including blunt and penetrating trauma
* Experience with solid abdominal organ transplant patients (liver, kidney, and/or pancreas) required
* Solid orthopedic trauma and wound vac experience required
* Tracheostomy care and management strongly preferred
* Telemetry experience required, including interpretation of dysrhythmias and management of dysrhythmias
* Familiarity with drips such as heparin and insulin required; no titration of cardiac drips
* Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, surgical drains, fracture care, post-surgical skills, traction, and patient mobility preferred
* Patient ratio of 4:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* Self-scheduling facility
* 6 weekend shifts required per contract
* Will be expected to work 3 of 5 winter holidays
* Adult patient population only
* Unit census of 20 patients with 20 beds and 20 rooms
* Candidates may float within the hospital or to an affiliate hospital nearby
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, TNCC
* Additional compliance exams required: EKG Onboarding Exam, Math Exam, Med/Pharmacology Exam, Progressive Care Competency Exam, Progressive Care Skills, and CORE Exams
* Compact or Kentucky state license required
* Local travelers within 100 miles are not accepted at this facility
* At least 1 reference required at time of submission

This is a high-volume Level 1 trauma center and teaching facility offering a full range of interdisciplinary support services including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretarial support. The facility specializes in trauma surgical care, solid organ transplants, vascular surgeries, and non-elective orthopedic procedures, providing a dynamic and clinically advanced environment for experienced healthcare professionals.
