Opportunity:

Oncology Infusion Medical Assistant

Job Details:

* Day shift position working 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week, Monday through Friday
* 40-hour orientation period with 32 hours on the floor
* Caribbean Blue scrubs required (not provided)
* EPIC documentation and SBAR communication tools used
* 2 years of experience required
* Required certification: BLS (AHA only, no HeartCode)
* Required experience includes: Adult Outpatient Oncology, 12 Lead ECG, hearing screening, height/weight, pulse oximetry, vision testing, vital signs (blood pressure, respirations, temperature, pulse), recording history/medications/allergies, biopsy, dressing change, labeling of specimens, urine UA/clean catch, venipuncture, blood glucose via glucometer, pregnancy testing, strep testing, urine dipstick/urinalysis, authorization forms, insurance verification, pharmacy calls/patient refill requests, telephone triage, administration of medications, follow-up phone calls, rooming patients, and review of lab tests
* Preferred skills include: OB/GYN, immunizations, intradermal, and intramuscular procedures
* Treat adult and geriatric patient populations
* Non-oncologic infusions in addition to chemotherapy and immunotherapy administered
* Solid mass and hematologic cancer diagnoses managed
* Float required within competency
* Interdisciplinary support available including interpretation services, phlebotomy, social services, pharmacy, and unit secretary

Facility:

This facility is a fast-paced oncology infusion clinic offering comprehensive cancer care services, including non-oncologic infusions alongside chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments. The clinic provides robust interdisciplinary support with pharmacy and social services on-site, as well as nurse practitioner coverage in house. The facility serves adult and geriatric patients and maintains a collaborative care environment to support both patients and clinical staff.
