Job Details:
* Block schedule required
* Every other weekend required
* No on-call required
* Patient ratios: 1:3 during days and 1:4 during nights
* Float between units required to meet unit needs
* May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility
* Charting system: Epic experience required
* Scrub color: Any color
* At least 1 year of experience required
* Compact license must be in hand at submission
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Required skills include: Blood product administration, central line care/management, chest tubes, continuous bladder irrigation (CBI), feeding tube care and management, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, IV insulin protocols, cardiac drip management and titration, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, oxygen tanks, PCA, PCU/DOU/IMC/stepdown experience, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, seizure disorders, starting and maintaining IVs, substance withdrawal, and telemetry
* Common patient diagnoses include: congestive heart failure, atrial fibrillation, acute respiratory failure, sepsis, syncope, stroke, ETOH withdrawal, chest pain, and DKA
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and unit secretary
* Unit serves adult patients with a daily census of 35 and 42 beds total
* 2 professional references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
Facility:
This facility is a short-term acute care hospital and Level III Trauma Center equipped to handle a wide range of medical emergencies and acute care needs. The progressive care unit operates with a 42-bed capacity and benefits from comprehensive interdisciplinary support services including respiratory therapy, physical therapy, rapid response teams, and more. The facility utilizes Epic as its charting system and provides free parking for staff.
