Opportunity:

RN - FBC - OB / L&D / PP (LDRP)

Job Details:

* 12-hour night shifts beginning at 6:45 AM with bedside report
* Every other weekend (EOW) required with holiday rotation with staff
* First to float to all other Sacramento facilities; mid-shift float to another facility is rare but possible
* If placed on call, response time is 30 minutes
* High acuity unit providing couplet care from start to finish in an LDRP setting
* Must be willing and able to circulate C-sections and feel comfortable in all aspects of LDRP care
* Patient ratios: 1:3-4 couplets, labor and delivery 1:1 to 1:2, antepartum 1:1 to 1:3
* Unit includes 10 L&D beds, 2 OR suites for C-sections, 3 OB-ED triage beds, 3 antepartum testing beds, and 12 postpartum beds
* 140-165 births monthly
* Common diagnoses include preterm labor, bleeding, inductions, cesarean sections, and hypertension
* Must be able to titrate drips including Pitocin
* Must be able to read and interpret EKG strips on mothers in PACU
* EFM system: GE Corometric monitors with Fetalink surveillance
* OB surgical techs available on unit; OB hospitalist in house 24/7; neonatology on call 24/7 with daily rounds; anesthesia in house 24/7
* Overtime and extra shifts available
* Charting system: Cerner
* Scrubs provided
* BSN not required
* Required certifications: ACLS, Advanced Fetal Monitoring/AWHONN-Advanced, BLS, NRP; STABLE preferred

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a comprehensive Family Birthing Center with a high-volume labor and delivery unit. The unit is equipped with dedicated OR suites for cesarean sections, antepartum testing beds, and postpartum care beds, supporting a full spectrum of obstetric services. The facility follows AWHONN guidelines for staffing ratios and maintains 24/7 in-house obstetric hospitalist and anesthesia coverage, with neonatology available on call around the clock.
