Opportunity:
Radiology Tech
Job Details:
* Work Monday through Friday with shift times of 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM or 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM with some flexibility
* No on-call or weekend requirements
* Administer roentgen rays and radioactive substances to patients
* Operate X-ray equipment including GE x-ray equipment in main department portables and OEC (GE) C-arms in the OR
* Prepare patient rooms, equipment, supplies, and medications
* Provide patient services using imaging modalities and follow prescribed techniques in administering general and specific X-rays
* Adjust equipment, determine proper voltage, current, and desired exposure times
* Arrange immobilization and support devices to obtain proper patient positioning
* Determine technique for ionizing radiation during radiologic exams
* Prepare barium preparations and other chemical mixtures for X-rays
* Observe patients and machines during procedures and report any unusual occurrences
* Develop film in accordance with photographic techniques
* Clean and disinfect X-ray room and equipment
* Explain procedures, exams, and equipment to patients and/or family members
* Maintain stock supplies and perform general office duties including writing reports
* Operate mobile X-ray unit for bedside patient care
* Inspect emergency trays and write weekly reports
* Transport patients as needed
* Maintain radiographic technique charts
* Provide formal and informal education based on identified needs for staff and peers
* BLS certification required (must be through the American Heart Association)
* RD ARRT certification required
* SC Radiology Tech license required
* Must be registered through the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA)
