Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 6:45 AM
* Every other weekend requirement
* Rotate holidays with permanent staff
* 2 years of specialty experience required
* Must live within 75 mile radius of facility
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
* Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 2 patients
* Use Meditech EMR system
* Charge nurse responsibilities with patient assignment
* Monitor and read telemetry independently using Phillips monitors
* Work with Draeger ventilators
* 3-shift floor-specific orientation required
* Dress code: Hunter green pants, white tops, white jackets, or solid white
* May float to ER if qualified and credentialed
* Care for step-down level patients including pneumonia, CHF, sepsis
* Handle occasional pediatric surgical cases
* 12-hour cancellation policy every 2 weeks
* BSN not required

This acute care facility features a 10-bed step-down unit that provides intermediate-level care between ICU and medical floor settings. The facility maintains lower acuity ICU patients and typically operates at less than 5 patients, creating a manageable workload. The organization has hospitalist coverage for the entire facility, 24/7 respiratory therapy services, and an IV team available Monday through Friday for complex procedures. The facility offers a supportive environment with pharmacy support during day hours and Omnicell systems for after-hours medication access.
