Opportunity:
Sonographer - Pediatric Cardiology
Job Details:
* Work 4 shifts of 9 hours per week with rotating weekday off each week
* Float between inpatient and outpatient care areas
* Weekend rotation every 3rd weekend with additional weekends available if desired
* Call shifts begin after last clinic patient of the day and run until approximately 7:00 AM, 1-2 nights per week
* Weekend call runs from Friday morning through Monday morning
* Holiday expectations are call only as practice is closed 6 days per year
* Overtime available
* Schedule cycles are typically 12 weeks and subject to change
* See an average of 6 outpatient and 2 inpatient patients per day
* Work with patient types including neonates/newborns, pediatrics, and adults with congenital heart disease, ranging from premature babies through patients in their 60s
* Minimum 2 years of independent practice required; 3 years preferred
* Pediatric experience required
* Strong assessment skills required, including ability to recognize patient fatigue and changes during scanning
* Required certifications: BLS; ARDMS Adult (AE) registry with pediatric experience required; Pediatric (PE) registry preferred
* EMR: Cerner
* Equipment: Philips
* Scrub color: Any solid color, must be professional; scrubs can be provided if needed
* Free parking available
* 1-2 weeks of orientation provided based on experience and comfort level
Facility:
This facility includes a pediatric specialty outpatient clinic located within an attached building to the main hospital, offering a collaborative care environment. The clinic features 15 outpatient imaging rooms and provides comprehensive pediatric cardiology and congenital heart disease services. Staff support includes patient service representatives, registered nurses, medical assistants, additional sonographers, three cardiologists, and a clinical informaticist available to assist with PACS, Cerner, and other IT-related concerns.
