Opportunity:

RN - Burn ICU/PCU

Job Details:

* Mixed acuity level department serving ICU, PCU, TELE, and M/S level patients
* Adult patients only with varying patient ratios based on acuity
* 6-bed Burn ICU/PCU unit
* 3 weekend shifts required in a 4-week scheduling period
* No on-call requirements
* Float to like units (ICU/PCU/CCU) when needed; agency staff floats first
* Patients remain in unit from admission to discharge regardless of level of care
* Procedures performed on unit include debridement, dressing changes, line insertion, chest tube insertions and maintenance, and post-op procedural care
* Equipment used includes Alaris IV pumps, Hill-Rom beds and call light system, and GE cardiac monitoring equipment
* Documentation system: Meditech
* AirStrip used for cardiac rhythm monitoring
* Imobile phones used for communication with providers and staff
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, NIH
* ABLS certification preferred but not required
* ICU or PCU background required
* Burn experience preferred but not required
* Cardiac rhythm proficiency required
* Hemodynamic monitoring and drip titration proficiency required
* Dress code: Navy blue scrub top, navy blue or black scrub pants, and scrub jacket required; no t-shirts, hoodies, or sweatshirts allowed
* Must uphold facility mission and values, treat every patient with courtesy and respect, and adhere to bedside shift report requirements

This Level 1 Trauma Facility is a trauma, stroke, and cardiac verified facility offering a comprehensive multidisciplinary care model including burn surgeons, nurse practitioners, intensivists, rehabilitation specialists, dietary staff, pharmacists, and case management. The unit features critical care intensivists available 24/7, dedicated unit-based paramedics, and a dedicated burn surgeon and advanced practice provider. The facility is known for its experienced core staff, family-like atmosphere, and travel nurse-friendly environment.
