Job Details:

* 4x12 or 3x12 variable shift schedule (traveler's choice)
* Shifts will be either days or nights based on facility needs at time of start date - caregivers are not asked to rotate between night and day shifts, though occasional exceptions may occur for urgent staffing needs
* Assignment duration is traveler's choice of 13 or 26 weeks
* Guaranteed hours of 60 hours per 2 weeks - traveler can be called off for 1, 12-hour shift per 2 weeks
* Patient ratio of 1:20 for days, nights, and weekends
* Minimum 1 year of experience required; previous travel experience required
* No on-call required
* May float within scope to meet facility needs
* Block schedule not available
* Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from facility - locals not accepted
* No more than 1 week of RTO for 13-week contracts and no more than 2 weeks of RTO for 26-week contracts
* Must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's); preference for willingness to work any holidays
* All RTO must be submitted at time of submittal - RTO will not be considered if requested after an offer or after signing contract
* Required certifications: BLS; Alaska license must be in hand prior to submission
* Required skills: LTC experience, admissions, ambulation, blood glucose monitoring, feeding tube care and management, Foley catheter insertion (male and female), IM & SQ injections, isolation precautions/PPE, mouth care, NG tube/G tube, oxygen administration, rehab, vital sign monitoring, wound care
* Special procedures include: Accuchecks, implanted glucose sensors, PEG tube (G-tube) feedings, Duopa pumps, IV hydration PRN, phlebotomy lab draws, peritoneal dialysis (subcutaneous only), respiratory treatments (nebulizers)
* Special equipment includes: lifts, vital sign machines, glucose monitors, Sara Steady, pacemaker transmitter, EKGs
* Charting system: ECS; charting system experience required
* Scrub color: any
* Parking is free
* Patient age groups: adults and geriatrics
* Patient diagnoses include: dementia, Alzheimer's, TBI, plegics, cognitive impairments, physical impairments, and other LTC-level of care appropriate diagnoses
* All caregivers are required to obtain the Alaska Food Worker Certification as a requirement of working in an LTC facility - certification is obtained during on-site orientation and does not need to be completed prior to start date; there is a one-time $10 fee for this certification
* Facility will arrange a vehicle for traveler use during assignment - traveler must provide a valid driver's license and proof of insurance (including rental car coverage) prior to operating the vehicle; vehicle is for local use only within a 30-mile radius of the facility

This long-term care facility operates with 40 total staffed beds and provides comprehensive care for adult and geriatric patients. The facility offers an interdisciplinary support structure including social services and is equipped to manage a range of complex patient diagnoses including dementia, Alzheimer's, TBI, and various cognitive and physical impairments. The facility maintains a supportive environment with modern equipment and resources to meet the diverse needs of its patient population.
