Opportunity:

Stepdown / Immediate Care Unit RN

Job Details:

* Work 3x12 night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM on weekdays with some weekend shifts required
* Typical patient ratio of 1:4 with flexibility to 1:5 in emergency situations
* Block scheduling considered for weekend blocks only (Fri, Sat, Sun or Sat, Sun, Mon)
* Holiday RTO requests limited to no more than 2 of the 4 major holidays
* 13-week contract with possibility of extension
* Minimum 1.5?2+ years of experience required; 1 year MS/Tele and 2 years Stepdown experience preferred
* Must be able to read telemetry strips
* Required certifications: BCLS, ACLS (must be through American Heart Association)
* Required skills: IV start, telemetry monitoring
* Charting system: Cerner experience required
* Scrubs not provided; burgundy and/or white scrubs required
* Patient population includes adults and geriatrics, primarily cardiac patients including cardiac surgery and interventional cardiology procedures
* Unit acuity varies and may include patients that would be Progressive Care or Tele patients in a larger facility
* Unit supported by IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
* WV or Compact nursing license required; pending license accepted for submission
* Candidates must have a permanent address 100 miles or more from the facility

Facility:

This healthcare facility operates a Stepdown and Immediate Care Unit with 36 beds and a daily census of 34 patients. The unit primarily serves adult and geriatric cardiac patients, including those recovering from cardiac surgery and interventional cardiology procedures, as well as medical and surgical patients. Comprehensive interdisciplinary support services are available on the unit to ensure high-quality patient care.
