Endoscopy RN

Job Details:

* Work 5x8 hour day shifts from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
* Every third weekend required
* On-call required approximately every third weekend from 3:00 PM Friday through 6:00 AM Monday morning
* Additional weekday call required after 3:00 PM, split amongst traveler and two full-time RNs
* Traveler must remain within 30 minutes of the facility during call hours or may stay on-site if needed
* Patient ratio is 1:1
* Daily census averages 14 patients with 3 rooms and 3 beds
* Patients served include adults and geriatrics
* Charting system is Epic - experience required
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* Parking is provided at no cost
* Minimum 2 years of Endoscopy experience required
* Travel experience required
* First-time travelers not accepted
* South Carolina RN license or Compact license must be in hand prior to start
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Community hospital experience preferred
* Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
* Block scheduling available upon request but not guaranteed
* Must be proficient with endoscopy skills including: administering conscious sedation, airway management, colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, bronchoscopy, EBUS, EUS, esophageal varices and banding, PEG tube placement, tracheostomies, polyp snares, specimen handling and labeling, starting and maintaining IVs, monitoring and recovering conscious sedation, and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
* Special procedures include bronchoscopies, ERCPs, trachs, and PEG tube placements
* Interdisciplinary support available including respiratory services, interpretation services, rapid response teams, and transportation

This acute care hospital features 286 staffed beds and provides a comprehensive range of medical services to the community. The facility utilizes Epic for charting and supports a collaborative interdisciplinary team environment that includes respiratory services, interpretation services, rapid response teams, and transportation. The endoscopy unit performs a wide variety of specialized procedures and maintains a 1:1 patient ratio to ensure high-quality patient care.
