Job Details:
* 17-week contract for holiday coverage
* Shift times include Days: 7:00 AM?7:00 PM, 9:00 AM?9:00 PM, Mids: 10:00 AM?10:00 PM, 11:00 AM?11:00 PM, 12:00 PM?12:00 AM, 1:00 PM?1:00 AM, 2:00 PM?2:00 AM, Evenings: 3:00 PM?3:00 AM, Nights: 7:00 PM?7:00 AM
* Every other weekend rotation required, with flexibility for back-to-back weekends on rare occasions
* No on-call or floating requirements
* Minimum 2 years of experience in a large volume, high acuity emergency department required
* First-time travelers will be considered
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS or ENPC, TNCC
* EMR: Epic experience required
* Scrub color: Any color, no logos
* Patient ratios: 1:3?5 based on acuity; emergency department is set up in zones including a fast track green zone with 13 beds
* Patient population ranges from neonates to geriatric, including pediatric medical and trauma, stroke (administer TNK), cardiac (cath lab), behavioral health and substance use disorder
* Level III trauma center experience preferred; facility is the busiest ED in the state
* Pediatric emergency medicine experience highly preferred
* Required skills include: barcode scanning medication administration, managing medication drips, blood product administration, triage experience (must pass hospital's Triage Test before being allowed to triage), ability to set up chest tubes and arterial lines, assist with trauma and code cases, splinting, BiPAP/vents, and a strong understanding of ESI
* Experience with Point of Care Labs is a plus
Facility:
This facility is a 226-bed Level III non-profit community hospital featuring a 34-bed emergency department that sees between 200 and 250 patients per day, making it the busiest emergency department in the state. The emergency department is organized into zones, including a dedicated fast track area, and supports a wide range of high-acuity cases including trauma, stroke, cardiac, pediatric, behavioral health, and substance use disorder patients. The facility stabilizes and transfers patients requiring neurosurgery, multi-system trauma care, and high-acuity pediatric services.
