Job Details:

* Variable start times of 7:00 AM or 9:00 AM
* On-call required - call will be distributed equally amongst all nursing staff every 6 weeks, which could be up to 6-8 shifts in a 6-week period including nights, evenings, and weekends (8-hour shifts)
* May need to cover one night shift within contract as needed
* Weekend coverage required
* Must be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year
* Float required between units and potentially to affiliate hospitals nearby; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment and/or forfeiture of guaranteed hours
* Minimum 3 years of experience required
* Travel experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* Locals accepted (50-mile radius rule applies)
* Required certification: BLS
* Epic charting system experience required
* Valid California license in hand required; pending license not accepted
* Trauma, neuro, vascular, and ortho experience required
* OR RNs with experience in trauma, ortho, general, vascular, neuro, plastics, and ENT required
* Must be comfortable treating patients of all age groups including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
* Patient diagnoses include orthopedics (total joints and ortho trauma), neurosurgery, vascular, robotics, general, GU, and GYN
* Daily census of approximately 25 cases
* Night shift staffed with 2 people - 1 RN/1 ST or 2 RNs, with one acting as scrub; no unit secretary on night shift
* Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary (day shift)
* RTO must be included at time of submission
* Block schedule available at manager's discretion
* 2 professional references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years
* Copy of certifications required

This acute care hospital operates with 277 staffed beds and provides a comprehensive range of surgical services including trauma, orthopedics, neurosurgery, vascular, robotics, general surgery, GU, and GYN procedures. The facility utilizes Epic for charting and offers free parking. Scrubs are provided for OR, Endo, L&D, and PACU staff. The organization supports a robust interdisciplinary team and maintains strong specialty surgical capabilities across multiple service lines.
