Opportunity:

RN - Stroke/Neuro

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour shifts with straight nights schedule
* Rotating weekends required - every other weekend
* Every other holiday required
* May float to other med-surg units when needed
* On-call on Stroke unit is very rare
* 8-bed Stroke unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
* There will always be 2 nurses working per shift
* Assess, plan, and implement patient care and treatment for stroke, neuro, surgical, and acute care patients
* Utilize EPIC for computerized charting
* Operate Plum IV pumps and Plum PCA systems
* Minimum 2 years of med-surg or stroke/neuro experience preferred
* BSN not required
* Required certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS
* ACLS certification preferred but not required
* Dress code: Navy blue scrubs/uniforms
* Cancellation policy: Client may cancel up to 12 hours every 13 weeks
* This location does not accept local travelers with permanent addresses within 80 miles

Facility:

This acute care facility operates at a Trauma Level 2 designation and houses a specialized 8-bed Stroke/Neuro unit that functions similarly to a general med-surg unit. The facility sees a variety of patients including stroke, neurological, surgical, and general acute care patients. The unit utilizes modern technology including EPIC electronic health records and Plum IV pump systems, and provides a structured orientation program with preceptor support to help new staff acclimate to unit processes and routines.
