Interventional Radiology Tech

Job Details:

* 8-hour day shifts from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday
* 40 hours per week can be offered
* 13-week contract available
* Call requirement: one day per week on a rotating schedule (Tuesday, Thursday, Monday, Wednesday, Weekend)
* Weekend requirement: 1 weekend every 6-7 weeks
* No float requirement
* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* First-time travelers will not be accepted
* Neuro experience required
* Previous stroke certified hospital experience preferred
* Travel experience required
* Required work setting skills: Interventional Radiology and Special Procedures
* Required equipment skills: Fluoroscopy, PACS, maintains equipment, and stocks supplies
* Required procedural skills: Equipment set up, prep access site, room circulator, and scrub to maintain sterile field
* Required neurological procedure skills: Carotid Angiography, Embolization, Stent placement, Thrombolysis/Thrombectomy, and Vertebroplasty
* Required vascular skills: Angioplasty, Carotid Stenting, Central Venous Access/Port Placement, Thrombolysis/Thrombectomy, and TIPS
* Required venous access skills: Central Venous Access (non-Tunneled/PICC lines)
* Required professional knowledge: 3D imaging, Isolation Precautions/PPE, lead tech experience, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
* Required infection control skills: Sterile Technique
* Special procedures include: Stroke Intervention, Intracranial Embolization, Kyphoplasty, Carotid and Vertebral Stent, Nephrostomy, Biliary Placement, Chemo Embolization, Therasphere Mapping and Infusion, Mesenteric Angiogram, UAE, GAE, PAE, Chest Port, and Perm Cath Placement
* Special equipment required: Fluoroscopy, GE Innova Single Plane, and Siemens Artis Biplane X 2
* Unit systems: Pyxis and Epic (Epic experience required)
* Preferred certifications: ARRT CI and ARRT VI
* Required certifications: ARRT and BLS
* Scrubs not provided; light blue scrubs required
* 40 hours of unit orientation required
* Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
* Community hospital experience preferred

Facility:

This large healthcare facility operates with a daily census of 450 patients, 650 beds, and 3 interventional radiology rooms seeing approximately 20 visits per day. The facility offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, lift teams, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, unit secretaries, and more. The facility utilizes advanced imaging technology and maintains a robust interventional radiology and special procedures department serving a wide range of complex patient needs.
