RN - Labor and Delivery

Job Details:

* 13 or 26 week contracts available
* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* First time travelers accepted
* Epic charting system experience required
* Required certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate; ACLS preferred
* Staffing ratio of 1:1-3
* Float required to Post-Partum and possibly Labor & Delivery at sister facility based on skill set
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* 2 references required, covering 1 year within the last 3 years
* Patient population includes adolescents, infants, and adults
* Patient diagnoses include labor and preterm labor; unit includes 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms
* Responsibilities include circulating, OB-GYN, post-op, pre-op, scrub, low risk antepartum, and low risk labor and delivery
* Required procedures include blood and blood products administration, cardioversion and defibrillation, cooling and warming blanket, drains, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, syringe pumps, wound vac, and administration of heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate
* Required to attend all deliveries including high risk deliveries
* Responsibilities also include GYN surgeries, couplet care, low risk antepartum, and transition nursery

This facility is a large teaching hospital offering comprehensive labor and delivery services, including high risk antepartum care, GYN surgeries, and transition nursery support. The unit is well-equipped with modern technology and supports a high volume of births per month ranging from 200 to 300. The facility provides interdisciplinary support and maintains high standards of patient care across multiple specialty areas within women's health services.
