RN - ER

Job Details:

* 12-hour night shifts available with shift options: 6:45 AM?7:15 PM, 9:00 AM?9:00 PM, and 1:00 PM?1:00 AM (arrive 15 minutes early)
* Self-scheduling available; block scheduling is not allowed
* Every other weekend required (nights: Friday?Saturday; days: Saturday?Sunday) with rotating holidays
* Level 2 Trauma Center with STEMI and stroke receiving capabilities
* 44 total beds including 4 adult trauma bays and 1 pediatric trauma bay
* 11 fast-track beds; travelers work in all areas including triage if comfortable
* Travelers required to take ER holds
* Patient volume of 100?105 patients per day
* Nurse-to-patient ratio generally 1:4; can flex to 1:6 in psych and fast track
* Common cases include chest pain, shortness of breath, abdominal pain, back pain, cough, and alcohol detox; pediatrics make up approximately 10% of cases
* Manage all critical drips
* Nurses read own telemetry strips; monitors available in zones and at charge nurse desk
* Nurses draw labs when starting IVs; techs assist with lines, urine, and Foley catheters
* Respiratory therapy available 24/7 for ABGs, breathing treatments, vents, CPAP, and BiPAP
* Dress code: Navy blue scrubs with no logos; professional scrub jackets allowed
* Charting system: EPIC
* Minimum 1 year of ER experience required; travel experience preferred
* BSN not required
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, ENPC or PALS, NIHSS, NRP, TNCC

This facility operates as a Level 2 Trauma Center with STEMI and stroke receiving capabilities, featuring a 44-bed emergency department that includes dedicated adult and pediatric trauma bays, a fast-track area, and a separate locked psychiatric and seclusion area with video monitoring. The emergency department is supported by in-house 24/7 security, respiratory therapy, EKG technicians, paramedics, and a robust team of physicians and mid-level providers ensuring comprehensive patient care around the clock.
