Opportunity:

RN - ICU

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
* Every-other-weekend requirement with four weekend shifts per schedule period
* Rotating holidays with efforts made to minimize traveler holiday scheduling
* Acute care setting in a combined MICU/SICU/Neuro ICU unit with 20 beds
* Patient ratios of 1:1-2 for ICU and 1:3 for Stepdown
* Travelers typically do not float outside of the ICU unit
* 1-2 shifts of orientation with a preceptor following general hospital orientation on day one
* Charting system: EPIC, with monitor data from Phillips Cardiac Monitors flowing directly into EPIC
* No monitor techs on unit; central monitor station and hardwired room monitors in use
* Administer all typical ICU drips including moderate conscious sedation using ICU Medical IV Pumps
* Ventilators (Servo and Hamilton) managed 100% by Respiratory Therapy; RN may silence alarms once RT is notified
* Pulmonary Critical Care Intensivist in-house during the day and hospitalist coverage at night
* Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy available in-house 24/7
* No IV team on unit
* Common diagnoses include post cath lab, balloon pumps, ventriculars, and CRRT using NxStage
* Navy blue scrubs required; navy or white jacket; white or navy undershirt; natural hair color only; distasteful tattoos must be covered
* Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS
* Preferred certifications: PALS, TNCC
* BSN not required
* Client may cancel 2 shifts per 13-week assignment or 1 shift for assignments less than 13 weeks

This acute care facility operates a comprehensive ICU that combines MICU, SICU, and Neuro capabilities within a 20-bed unit. The facility supports stepdown needs and is equipped with advanced monitoring systems, 24/7 respiratory therapy, and around-the-clock pharmacy services. The unit is supported by a dedicated Charge Nurse 24/7 and utilizes EPIC as its electronic medical records system, ensuring seamless integration of patient monitoring data.
