RN - Behavioral Health

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour day shifts
* Provide care in an acute care setting
* Work within a secure inpatient behavioral health environment serving adults with a variety of mental health challenges
* Treat patients in one of two adult units: Adult Psychiatric Services (16-bed unit for adults with chronic mental illness in crisis) or Behavioral Medicine Services (10-bed unit treating depression, anxiety, grief, and other psychological issues)
* Average patient length of stay is 5 to 7 days
* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, therapists, psychiatric nurses, and behavioral health technicians
* Facilitate therapeutic groups focused on grief and loss, depression, anxiety, coping with mental illness, substance abuse recovery, medication management, and stress coping skills
* Support discharge planning and coordination of community resources for patients transitioning out of the hospital
* Charting system: EPIC
* Cancellation policy: 3 shifts per 13-week or longer contract; 2 shifts per 12-week or shorter contract
* Required certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS
* BSN not required
* Trauma Level 2 facility

This facility features two state-of-the-art adult behavioral health units completed in 2015, offering both private and semi-private rooms with private bathrooms, multiple activity and group rooms, a dedicated comfort room, and outdoor recreation space. The facility prioritizes safety with secure unit environments and provides a compassionate, comprehensive care model supported by psychiatrists, therapists, psychiatric nurses, and behavioral health technicians available 24/7. The facility also incorporates therapeutic and engaging programming including art, music expression, and pet therapy.
