Opportunity:

Medical Lab Technician

Job Details:

* PM shift hours are 2:00 PM to 12:30 AM, Night shift hours are 8:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with potential coverage from 6:30 PM to 5:00 AM on days where both PM and night shifts need assistance
* Flexibility is required as shift hours may vary based on scheduling needs; advance notice will be provided prior to schedule posting
* Perform clinical laboratory procedures both manual and automated, including quality assurance and instrument maintenance
* Conduct and complete routine and specialty lab tests including blood bank, immunology, microbiology, hematology, microscopy, and chemistry
* Receive and process specimens including blood, urine, and bodily fluids
* Coordinate the work of phlebotomists and clerical staff as required
* Reports to Director of Lab Services and may receive direction from the Technical Supervisor
* Computer charting using EPIC system required; proficiency in Word, spreadsheet, database, and email preferred
* Minimum 2 years of hospital laboratory experience required
* Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or related field preferred; Associate of Arts Degree in Lab Science with training or experience also considered
* Dress code: Clean scrubs, no color preference
* Required certifications: Certified Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) via AMT or ASCP, or Certified Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) via AMT or ASCP; Current ASCP certification or equivalent required; BLS not required
