RN - Stepdown/MedSurg

Job Details:

* Weekend night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday OR Saturday, Sunday, and Monday
* 12-hour shifts with no block scheduling guaranteed
* Agency RN positions posted as weekend positions
* Expected to work approximately half of all recognized holidays
* No call or standby requirement
* 29-bed flex unit serving both floor and step-down patients based on patient and hospital needs
* Nurse-to-patient ratios: 3:1 for step-down and 6:1 for floor patients
* Clinical Associates (nurse aides) available with a goal of 3 CAs at all times (1:10 ratio)
* Diverse patient population with primarily medical diagnoses
* Must be able to manage 3-patient step-down or 6-patient med-surg assignments
* EPIC charting system experience required
* RNs will have orders written to titrate drips including heparin, insulin, anti-hypertensives, antiarrhythmics, phenobarbital, ketamine, morphine/dilaudid/fentanyl PCAs, and TPN
* Equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, and ventilators on step-down (ventilator settings adjusted by ICU)
* Remote telemetry surveillance center and central monitoring available; RNs not expected to read their own strips using Philips telemetry monitoring equipment
* Charge RNs and House Supervisors available 24/7
* First to float or be pulled to other floor/step-down units
* Dress code: Any combination of royal blue and white scrubs
* Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week assignment and 1 shift for assignments less than 13 weeks
* Required certification: BLS (AHA)
* BSN not required

This acute care facility features a newly constructed 29-bed flex unit equipped to serve both floor and step-down patients, with a full opening anticipated in the first quarter of 2026. The facility offers 24/7 charge RN and house supervisor coverage, a remote telemetry surveillance center with central monitoring capabilities, and utilizes Philips telemetry monitoring equipment throughout.
