Open Position: RN - Observation Unit Stepdown

Estimated Gross Weekly Pay: $2355.52

Opportunity:

RN - OBS Stepdown & Floor

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour shifts with day shift hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or night shift hours from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* 36 hours per week with 3x12-hour shifts
* Every other weekend requirement
* May be expected to work holidays as needed
* Work across two separate units: Stepdown (6N) and Floor (6C) on the same floor within a 31-bed unit
* Stepdown nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3 and Floor nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6
* Nurse aides available with 3-4 aides for 31 patients
* Charge nurse present on each shift with house supervisor in-house 24/7
* Respiratory therapy available in-house 24/7; no ventilators on this unit
* Telemetry available on unit with tele techs; RNs must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
* Must be able to titrate drips in Stepdown and Heparin drips on the Floor
* Common patient diagnoses include MedSurg, Cardiac, IDDM, COPD, Trauma, Ortho, ENT, Urology, and pain management
* Charting system: EPIC
* Scrub color: Royal Blue
* Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract
* Required certifications: ACLS and BLS (AHA)
* BSN not required
* Acute care setting

This acute care facility operates a combined Stepdown and Medical-Surgical floor unit, providing comprehensive care for a wide range of patient populations. The facility maintains robust staffing support including charge nurses on every shift, 24/7 house supervision, and dedicated respiratory therapy and telemetry technicians. The organization utilizes EPIC as its electronic health records system and is committed to maintaining quality patient care across its multi-unit environment.
