Job Details:

* 36 or 48 hour shift options available
* Rotating weekend shifts required
* Patient ratio of 2:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* 20 orientation hours required
* Unit accepts first-time travelers
* 2 years of experience required
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Epic charting system experience preferred
* Trauma Level II experience preferred
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Additional certifications preferred: PALS, TNCC
* Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
* Manage ICU and CVICU patients including post cardiac surgery, stroke, trauma, and complex diagnoses such as CHF, MI/cardiomyopathy, sepsis/shock, CABG, and respiratory failure
* Perform and manage arterial line management, central line care, BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator management, and continuous IV sedation and paralytics
* Operate and monitor specialized equipment including Hemosphere, Impella, Balloon Pump, Tablo, and infrequently ECMO
* Support bedside procedures including TEEs and tracheostomies
* Manage epicardial pacing wires, pulmonary artery lines, and vasoactive and cardiac drips
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and radiology
* Up to two pre-approved time off requests allowed
* No float or call requirements
* 50-mile radius rule applies, no local candidates considered

Facility:

This is a Level 2 Trauma facility featuring a comprehensive stroke center and an advanced cardiac and open heart program. The facility operates a 20-bed CVICU unit with a daily census of 15 patients and provides robust interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more. The facility specializes in complex cardiovascular and neurosurgical care, offering advanced procedures such as open heart surgery, CABG, valve replacement and repair, and cath lab interventions with interventionalists on staff.
