Opportunity:
RN - NICU
Job Details:
* Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* 13-week assignment
* Rotating weekends required (4 weekend shifts per month)
* Patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3 depending on acuity
* 32-bed unit located in the Women's Pavilion on the 1st floor
* Minimum 2 years of recent Level 3 or greater NICU experience required
* Experience caring for premature and critically ill neonates, including infants requiring respiratory support
* Competency in management of patients receiving CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and mechanical ventilation required
* Experience with umbilical lines (UAC/UVC), PICC lines, and central line management required
* Experience administering and monitoring parenteral nutrition (TPN/lipids), IV medications, and neonatal drips required
* Proficiency in neonatal assessment, stabilization, and recognition of clinical deterioration required
* Epic EMR experience required
* Experience in Level IV NICU or regional referral NICU preferred
* Experience caring for micro-preemies (under 28 weeks gestation) and extremely low birth weight infants preferred
* Experience with high-frequency ventilation (HFOV/HFJV) and inhaled nitric oxide (iNO) preferred
* Experience with therapeutic hypothermia (cooling) protocols preferred
* Experience caring for infants with hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) preferred
* Perform procedures including neonatal resuscitation, CPAP management, mechanical ventilation, surfactant administration, and PICC line management
* Administer blood products, TPN, lipids, phototherapy, and neonatal medications
* Collaborate with neonatologists, NNPs, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary care teams
* May float to well-baby nursery
* Hospital laundered scrubs provided each shift
* Required certifications: NRP, BLS, STABLE, and current RN license
* Equipment used includes Alaris pumps, Medela milk warmers, Natus and GE phototherapy lights, GE Panda warmers/Giraffes, CareFusion Oscillator, Getinge (Servo) Ventilator, and Fisher and Pykel Bubble CPAP
Facility:
This facility is home to a 32-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit located within a dedicated Women's Pavilion, providing specialized care for premature and critically ill newborns. The unit is staffed around the clock with charge nurses, registered nurses, patient care technicians, and respiratory therapists, and is equipped with advanced neonatal technology to support the highest levels of patient acuity. The care team operates collaboratively across neonatology, nursing, and ancillary services to deliver comprehensive, family-centered neonatal care.
