Opportunity:

RN - CVICU

Job Details:

* Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience required
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* CCRN certification preferred
* ECMO experience preferred
* Patient ratio of 2:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* 6 weekend shifts per contract
* Will be expected to work 3 of 5 winter holidays
* Self-scheduling model
* Candidates will float within the hospital or to an affiliate hospital nearby
* Required skills include: arterial line management, care of ventilated patients, central line care and management, continuous IV sedation, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring, titrating cardiac drips, and ventilator management
* Experience with ECMO, IABP, and LVAD preferred
* Treats patient age groups including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* Common patient diagnoses include heart and lung transplant, CABG, STEMI, NSTEMI, ARDS, heart failure, vascular, esophagectomy, and VATS
* Special procedures performed on unit include ECMO, LVAD, IABP, and EKOS
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
* Local travelers within 100 miles are not accepted at this facility

This facility is a large academic health system featuring a dedicated cardiovascular intensive care unit with 44 beds and a daily census of 44 patients. The unit is equipped to handle complex cardiac and thoracic cases, offering advanced procedures and specialized support services. Comprehensive interdisciplinary support is available, including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, rapid response teams, and pharmacy, ensuring a collaborative and high-acuity care environment.
