Job Details:
* Variable day and evening shifts available; no night shifts required
* 12-hour shifts starting at 7:00 AM, 10:00 AM, or 12:00 PM
* Rotating weekends required
* Block scheduling required
* No on-call required
* No floating between units
* Patient ratios of 1:3-4 (3 patients on days/weekends, 4 patients on nights)
* Care for patients across all age groups including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* Work in a 10-bed emergency room with a daily census of approximately 32 and 30 visits per day
* Utilize Telestroke technology for code stroke patients with TNK availability and Telepsych services
* Follow Cardiac Level I, Code Stroke, Sepsis, and Trauma Alert protocols
* Interdisciplinary support available including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Phlebotomy, and Interpretation Services
* Required skills: Triage, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, central line care/management, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, BiPAP/CPAP management, interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs), care of ventilated patients, isolation precautions/PPE, blood product administration, starting and maintaining IVs, and management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
* Epic charting experience required
* Scrubs: Any color
* No parking fee
* Minimum 1 year of ER RN experience required
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* 2 professional references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years
* Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment and/or forfeiture of guaranteed hours
Facility:
This is a Critical Access hospital with 25 total staffed beds and a 10-bed emergency department. The facility operates as a teaching hospital and supports advanced emergency protocols including Cardiac Level I, Code Stroke, Sepsis, and Trauma Alert. The emergency department is staffed with two physicians during day shifts and one physician overnight, supported by a dedicated ED technician around the clock. The facility offers advanced technology including Telestroke capabilities and Telepsych services to support comprehensive patient care.
