Job Details:

* Day and night shifts available: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* Schedule cycle runs Sunday through Saturday
* Every other weekend rotation required
* On-call only applies if scheduled shift is called off due to low census
* One holiday shift possible
* Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Care for high-risk and low-risk ante-partum and intra-partum pregnant women, immediate postpartum patients, stabilization of normal newborns, and couplet care
* Patient ratios: 1:1 for high-risk patients, typically 1:2; follows AWHONN guidelines
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP, EFM; Surgical Scrub requires BLS and CST
* Required skills: IUPC, FSE, IV starts, and circulating C-sections
* EMR system: EPIC
* IV pumps: Baxter
* Medication dispensing: Pyxis
* Fetal monitoring: GE/Centricity and Phillips EFM/tele; centralized EFM and cardiac telemetry available
* Floating may be required to postpartum and NICU (for level 2 newborns)
* Orientation typically 2 to 3 shifts depending on competency and comfort
* Scrubs: Dark blue, provided by the facility
* Parking: Free in designated areas

Facility:

This is a 388-bed hospital operating as a Level 3 Trauma Center. The labor and delivery unit features 12 beds, 3 operating rooms, and 2 OB emergency rooms. The unit is supported 24/7 by a receptionist/HUC and charge nurse, with additional support including respiratory therapy with NICU, hospitalist coverage, phlebotomy services as needed, and an IV/VAT team when required.
