RN - Surgery

Job Details:

* Work shifts from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM or 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday through Friday with call requirements
* 6 operating suites plus a hybrid room with 20-30 cases per day
* Common cases include total joints, general surgery, spine, urology, and cardiovascular for open heart team
* Skillset to work both OR and CVOR is required
* Minimum 1 year of full-time experience required
* Weeknight call requirement: General OR 4-5 nights per 6 weeks; CVOR 5-10 weeknights per 6 weeks with up to 50% call time
* Weekend call requirement: General OR 5 twelve-hour shifts per 6 weeks; CV 2 weekends per 6 weeks with up to 50% call time
* Holiday call requirement: 2-3 twelve-hour shifts per year
* Call is divided equally among staff in the same role; travelers will begin taking call after 1-2 weeks
* Call response time: 30 minutes
* Scrubbing not required for RNs; scrub techs are available on the unit
* Charge nurse and specialty leads available as resources; house supervisor onsite 24/7
* Charting system: Cerner
* Unit orientation: 3-5 shifts depending on case load and exposure
* Floating is rare and limited to non-procedural assistance; will not be floated to Pre-op or PACU
* Hospital-provided scrubs required
* Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
* BSN not required
