Job Details:

* Position may float between units to meet unit needs
* No on-call required
* Every other weekend required
* Block schedules not required
* 48-hour shifts approved
* Patient ratio of 1:5
* Minimum 1 year of neurology RN experience required
* Must be comfortable with the NIH scale and proficient in caring for post-surgical neurology and varied neurology diagnosis patients
* Patients include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* Epic charting system experience required (hard stop)
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Required skills: BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), craniotomy, CVA management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, neuro stepdown, pre/post neurosurgery, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, spinal cord injury, telemetry, and traumatic brain injury
* Scrub color: Any color for RNs
* No parking fee
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities nearby the contracted facility

Facility:

This facility is a Short Term Acute Care hospital and serves as both a Level II Trauma Center and a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with 629 total staffed beds. As a teaching hospital, it is equipped with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretarial support. The neuroscience unit is a designated stroke unit with Thrombectomy Capable JCAHO designation, a Spine Center of Excellence JCAHO designation, and a NAEC Level 3 Epilepsy Center designation.
