Respiratory Therapist (Children's)

Job Details:

* Work 3x12-hour shifts per week with rotating days and varied shifts
* 36 guaranteed hours per week
* Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts
* May be required to work major holidays and pick up one additional shift during schedule period
* Call requirements to be discussed during interview
* May be required to float to meet organizational needs up to competency level
* Low census call-off of up to 48 hours per 13-week contract (full or partial shifts) may occur
* Perform respiratory therapy procedures per protocol and physician orders for patients ranging from newborn to geriatric ages
* Work primarily in critical care units, adult general care, and pediatric general care
* Conduct thorough patient assessments and initiate, modify, or discontinue care plans following established protocols
* Responsible for proper documentation of all patient records and department logs
* Must maintain current knowledge of technological advances in applicable areas
* Must have 2+ years of acute care respiratory therapy experience
* Recent critical care experience required
* PICU and NICU experience required
* Prior travel experience of one 13-week assignment required
* Required licenses: RRT, Nevada State License, Point of Care Analyst License, Director of Point of Care, or General Supervisor of Point of Care required prior to start
* Required certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS required prior to start

This facility is an extremely busy and fast-paced healthcare environment serving a 500-mile radius. It operates as a Level II Trauma Center and holds Stroke accreditation, featuring 800 inpatient beds and 80 emergency room beds. The facility's volume and pace are comparable to that of a Level I trauma center, and it is home to a children's hospital, a robotic surgery institute, and comprehensive heart, cancer, brain, and nerve care services.
