Job Details:
* Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM on a 3x12 schedule
* Required acute care/hospital experience
* Assist physicians and other healthcare providers with routine examinations and procedures
* Procure equipment and supplies during emergency situations
* Observe, collect, and document patient information while providing care and report significant changes in patient condition to a registered nurse or physician
* Provide assistance to patients and families during admission, orientation, and discharge
* Provide care and treatments including vital signs measurement, height and weight, specimen collection, skin preps, catheter care, capillary blood glucose checks, simple wound care, range of motion exercises, and postural drainage
* Provide direct personal care for routine activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and assisting with ambulation
* Provide indirect care including cleaning work area, changing linens, restocking supplies, cleaning and sterilizing instruments, and transporting patients, supplies, and specimens
* Reinforce routine teaching given to patients by registered nurses or physicians and document patient understanding
* Distribute patient education materials at the request of patients and healthcare providers
* Minimum six months of relevant nursing assistant experience required, which may include a nursing assistant course
* High School Diploma or GED required
* Must be fluent in verbal and written English and able to develop basic computer skills
* Must be listed as a Nursing Assistant I in the North Carolina Health Care Personnel Registry with no substantiated findings
* Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification required
