Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

* Work on a med/surg unit with a primary focus on surgical orthopedic, neurosurgery, general surgery, and urology patients
* Self-scheduling with weekend coverage required
* Patient ratio of 6:1 on days, nights, and weekends
* Serve adult and geriatric patient populations
* 12-bed unit; non-monitored unit
* Must be available to work every other holiday
* Two pre-approved time off requests allowed per contract
* Float within the hospital required; may also be required to float to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius
* Cerner charting system experience preferred
* Required certification: BLS (AHA only)
* Active PA or Compact nursing license required
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* Required skills include: accessing/managing ports, blood product administration, bowel obstruction care, central line blood draw, colostomy/ileostomy management, continuous bladder irrigation (CBI), feeding tube care and management, heparin and insulin administration, isolation precautions/PPE, med/surg telemetry, PCA management, peripheral line care, peripheral nerve block catheters, PICC line management, pre/post neurosurgery care, starting and maintaining IVs, substance withdrawal management, surgical drain care, telemetry, total joint replacement care, use of rapid response/code teams, and wound care/wound vac
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
