Job Details:
* Assignment length of 13 or 26 weeks
* Shift options available: 5x8s or 4x10s
* Guaranteed 72 hours per 2-week pay period
* Every other weekend required
* No on-call responsibilities
* Acute care experience required
* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* First-time travelers not accepted
* LMSW certification required
* Alaska state license required; candidates without a license in hand may apply for a temporary LMSW license
* Epic charting system experience preferred
* Scrubs provided by facility
* Parking is free
* May float to like units within scope to meet facility needs if needed
* Block scheduling not available
* Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
* All requested time off must be submitted at time of submittal
* Provide psychosocial and emotional support to patients and families through a consult-based social work model
* Complete psychosocial assessments and develop person-centered discharge plans in alignment with policy and regulations
* Provide brief clinical interventions, assist with resource navigation, and coordinate care
* Screen for suicidality and engage in safety planning as appropriate
* Complete appropriate reports of harm based on state statutes and coordinate with outside entities
* Work within one of three team areas: Emergency Department, Children's, or Adult teams
* Children's Hospital team supports pediatrics, PICU, NICU, and maternity units
* Adult team supports all inpatient units for patients over the age of 18
* Work closely with RN Case Managers and the care team to coordinate and carry out safe and ethical discharge plans
* Master's degree in social work from a CSWE accredited school required
* Patient age groups include neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics

The facility offers a comprehensive range of inpatient services with a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration and high-quality patient care. The social work department is integrated across multiple service lines, supporting emergency, pediatric, and adult inpatient populations.
