Opportunity:

Burn ICU Nights

Job Details:

* Night shift position with the option of 36 or 48 hours per week
* Every other weekend (EOW) required
* 15 weekend shifts per contract
* Float to like units within scope required, as needed based on facility needs
* Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
* Travel experience required
* Patient ratio of 1:2 (consistent across days, nights, and weekends)
* Charting system: Epic (experience required)
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (must be in hand at time of submission)
* Valid OK or Compact RN license required at time of submission
* Trauma Level II experience preferred
* Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
* Patient diagnoses include burns, DKA, sepsis, respiratory failure, post-code, post-op Whipple, AMS, and hypovolemic shock
* Perform and assist with wound care, pain management, line placement, and intubation
* Key skills include arterial line management, ventilator management, care of ventilated patients, central line care, blood product administration, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, BiPAP/CPAP management, IV insulin protocols, interpretation of ABGs and dysrhythmias, and management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, physical therapy, radiology, and rapid response teams
* Local candidates within 75-mile radius not accepted

Facility:

This facility operates a specialized Burn Intensive Care Unit with a daily census of 13 beds, providing critical care to adult and geriatric patients. The unit is supported by a comprehensive interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams. The facility emphasizes high-acuity patient care with advanced procedures and maintains a consistent 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio across all shifts.
