Opportunity:

RN - PCU

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour shifts with 36 hours per week scheduled
* Patient ratio is ideally 1:4, currently running 1:5
* Unit is a 29-bed Progressive Care Unit
* Float to areas of competency as needed per floating policy
* Vital signs required every 4 hours, with increased frequency based on patient condition
* Blood glucose checks completed as ordered
* Required documentation and assessment every shift
* Staff self-schedule with flexibility, particularly for consecutive night shifts
* Work with a cohesive team-oriented staff; candidate must work well with others
* Equipment used includes Alaris IV pumps, Welch Allyn VS machines, bladder scanner, and vein finder
* Documentation system: Meditech
* Unit support includes unit clerks and patient care technicians
* Must be familiar with cardiac drips and insulin drips
* Required certification: ACLS
* Dress code: Royal blue scrubs; no artificial or gel nails permitted
* Must provide safe, high quality, and compassionate care

Facility:

This 354-bed acute care facility is located near the Georgia-South Carolina border and is part of a large national healthcare organization. The facility is home to the largest burn center in the country, seeing more than 3,000 patients annually. Additional specialty services include a Human Motion Institute, an emergency room recognized for the shortest wait times in the area, a Digestive Disease Center, a Pelvic Health Institute, and a Stroke Center. Staff members praise the facility's culture and the strong managerial support they receive.
