Opportunity:

Medical Surgical / Registered Nurse

Job Details:

* Day shift position working 48 or 36 hours per week
* Minimum 2 years of recent Medical Surgical experience required, strictly enforced
* Level I Trauma experience required
* Large hospital experience required
* Travel experience required
* First-time travelers not accepted unless they have 5+ years of experience in the specialty
* Patient ratio of 1:6/7 utilizing a team nursing model (team includes 2 RNs, LPN, and Med Nurse); goal ratio of 1:5
* Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
* Patient diagnoses include CHF, AMI, post cath lab, PPM placements, ablations, and general med/surg cases
* Responsibilities include verifying rhythm strips, managing drips at set rates, and titrating heparin per protocol
* Skills required: Med/Surg, MS/Tele, starting and maintaining IVs
* Interdisciplinary support available including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, and Transportation
* Epic charting system experience preferred
* On-call required as needed
* Weekend coverage required as needed
* Block scheduling not available; weekend block may be considered and must be discussed during interview
* If assignment includes end-of-year holidays and all three major holidays fall within the assignment, must be willing to work 2 of the 3 holidays; if only 2 holidays fall within the assignment, must be willing to work at least 1
* Must live at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered
* Must hold an active RN license in the state or a compact RN license compliant with NLC guidelines
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application; RTO submitted after an offer is made will not be honored
