Opportunity:

Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Job Details:

* Local CT staff preferred with CT Med Aide certification required
* Group home setting (residential) providing 24-hour care for 6-8 individuals with intellectual disabilities
* Multiple shift options available: Day, Evening, or Night shifts with 5-8 shifts plus every other weekend
* Weekend position available: 3 x 12-hour shifts (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
* Assist individuals with the development of daily living skills and life activities to promote independence
* Help individuals identify and achieve personal goals to live their best life possible
* Monitor comfort and safety of those served while ensuring medical, nutritional, and personal care needs are met
* Provide emotional support while assisting with general housekeeping, meal preparation, and laundry duties
* Must be 18 years of age or older
* Valid U.S. driver's license required
* High school diploma or equivalent required
* Must be able to perform frequent physical activity including extended periods of standing, walking, and bending
* Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds independently, frequently push/pull up to 40 pounds of force, and safely transfer 50 pounds
* No prior experience necessary - thorough training provided
