Opportunity:
RN - NICU/PICU
Job Details:
* Minimum 2 years of NICU RN experience with PICU experience required
* Majority of time will be spent in the NICU with availability to staff in PICU when census allows
* 2 out of 4 weekend shifts required per contract
* Patient ratios of 1:1 for intubated patients and 2:1 for stable non-intubated patients
* 36 orientation hours required
* Active Michigan (MI) license required - compact licenses are not accepted
* Required certifications: NRP, BLS, PALS
* EPIC charting system experience required
* Trauma Level I experience required
* Required skills include: attending high risk deliveries, NICU IV, PICU experience, ECMO, high frequency ventilation, nitric oxide therapy, arterial line management, central line care, ventilator management, therapeutic hypothermia, UAC/UVC management, and neonatal dosage calculations
* Preferred: 2 years in a combination of PICU, PCTU, NICU, and moderate care
* At least 2 references required, with at least 1 being a supervisory reference - charge nurse references are not accepted
* Interdisciplinary support available including respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, rapid response teams, and interpretation services
Facility:
This facility includes a 59-bed Level IV neonatal center serving the region and state, recognized as one of the state's leading referral centers for premature newborns and infants with complex medical and surgical needs. The facility provides advanced therapies including ECMO, high frequency ventilation, nitric oxide therapy, and whole body cooling for hypothermic neuroprotection. Approximately 80% of admissions are inborn with 20% transported from the referral region, and 24/7 neonatal transport services are available with NICU RNs as members of the transport team. The facility also houses a 30-bed multi-acuity Pediatric Intensive Care Unit featuring state-of-the-art technology including ECMO, nitric oxide, high frequency ventilation, and CRRT, supporting children from newborn to young adult with multidisciplinary care. Both units emphasize a family-centered approach to care.
