Job Details:

* 12-hour shifts with multiple possible start times: Days at 7:00 AM, Mids/Eves at 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, or 3:00 PM, and Nights at 7:00 PM
* Every other weekend rotation required
* Holiday expectations of every other or 50%
* 6-week scheduling cycles
* RTO approved up to 5 days
* No floating between units
* Patient ratio of 1:4 with fast track ratio of 1:6 as team nurse (RN, NP)
* Treat diverse patient population including neonates through geriatrics, approximately 25% pediatric patients, walk-in traumas, and patients with cardiac, neuro, GI, respiratory, and psych conditions
* Manage ventilators and BiPAP without respiratory therapy support on-site
* Mix own medications under pharmacy supervision via video conference
* Perform blood draws as majority of draws are completed by RN
* May be requested to serve in charge nurse capacity (facility will provide training if needed)
* Strong IV skills required including chest tubes and central lines
* Knowledge of medication administration required
* Charting system: EPIC
* Equipment: Alaris and Pyxis
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, Advanced NRP, NIHSS, TNCC
* Minimum 2 full years of ER experience required (any trauma level)
* Traveler Telemetry Competency required to be completed and passed prior to start
* Scrub color: Any color

Facility:

This brand-new off-campus emergency department operates 24/7 and serves as a small acute care location with 8-10 beds. The facility provides comprehensive emergency services treating a wide variety of patient types and conditions. The unit is supported by a charge nurse, ED physician, ER tech, front desk staff, and EST/phlebotomy, and utilizes modern technology including video conference pharmacy supervision to ensure safe and effective patient care.
