Job Details:

* Night shift position in the Intensive Care Unit
* Every other weekend required
* 2:1 patient ratio for days, nights, and weekends
* 2 years of ICU experience preferred; first-time travelers welcome
* Cardiac patient population with ability to manage two ventilated patients simultaneously with multiple drip titrations required
* Epic charting system experience preferred
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS - must be in hand at time of submission
* Must be proficient in arterial line management, central line care, ventilator management, and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
* Experience with CRRT/CVVHD, IABP, Impella, hypothermia protocols, and open heart patient recovery required
* Manages patients with diagnoses including ARDS, respiratory distress, AKI, DKA, CABG, and STEMI/NSTEMI
* Special equipment includes Edwards FloTrac, Swan-Ganz catheter, and CRRT
* Mixed ICU/CVICU unit with 6-10 cardiovascular cases per month; nurses recover own patients
* No ECMO or LVAD cases
* Travelers may be expected to float to like units within their scope based on facility needs
* Valid KS or Compact RN license required
* 50-mile local radius enforced; local candidates not accepted

Facility:

This facility operates a 16-bed mixed ICU/CVICU unit with a daily census of 13 patients, offering comprehensive critical care services for adult and geriatric populations. The unit is supported by a robust interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, rapid response teams, social services, phlebotomy, and interpretation services. The facility handles complex cardiovascular and critical care cases, providing nurses with an environment to utilize advanced critical care skills.
