Opportunity:
NICU RN
Job Details:
* Friday through Sunday weekend block schedule
* Every other weekend required, may exceed to meet unit needs
* No on-call required
* Patient ratios of 2-3, staffed by acuity (up to 1:3)
* Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
* Level III NICU experience required - hard stop
* Minimum 2 years of experience required with at least 1 year in NICU specialty
* Travel experience required
* May float to Mother/Baby unit for babies; if couplet care experience, may float fully
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP Advanced (willing to obtain advanced NRP before start date is acceptable)
* Charting system: Epic (experience required)
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* Free parking available
* Care for neonates and infants with diagnoses including prematurity, RDS, NAS, sepsis, hypoglycemia, and jaundice
* Perform and assist with central lines, ROP exams, spinal taps, and intubations (no surgeries performed at facility)
* Manage PICC lines, midlines, CPAP, BIPAP, high frequency ventilators/oscillators, smart pumps, feeding pumps, isolettes, and warmers
* Titrate Dopamine, Dobutamine, Fentanyl, and Versed
* Required skills include arterial line management, bubble CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, ventilator management, therapeutic hypothermia, UAC/UVC catheter management, and neonatal dosage calculations
* Community hospital experience required
* 14-bed NICU unit with interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, radiology, social services, and pharmacy
* All RTO must be submitted at time of submission; approval based on facility needs
Facility:
This acute care hospital features a Level III NICU delivering approximately 190 births per month and serving a large Hispanic community. The facility holds a CCS designation and supports a comprehensive range of neonatal care services. With 212 staffed beds, the hospital provides interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, and pharmacy to ensure high-quality patient care.
