Opportunity:
RN - Inpatient Rehabilitation
Job Details:
* 12-hour night shifts
* Weekend coverage required with varied number of weekend shifts per contract
* Ability to float to other facilities required - resources may be reassigned to a different department, unit, or facility at any time during assignment
* Minimum 2 years of inpatient rehabilitation experience required
* BSN required
* Prior travel experience within the last 12 months required
* Prior teaching hospital experience preferred
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Community hospital experience preferred
* LTAC experience preferred
* Acute rehab and neuro/stroke unit experience preferred
* Required certifications: CA RN License, AHA BLS, ACLS
* Proficiency with Epic charting system required
* Patient ratios of 1:5 for days, nights, and weekends
* Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
* Patient diagnoses include stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, neuro, trauma, amputation, cardiac, LVAD, organ transplants, respiratory, and deconditioning from long ICU course
* Provide 24-hour nursing rehabilitation with a minimum of 3 hours of intense therapy at least 5 days per week including speech therapy, physical therapy, and occupational therapy
* Utilize an interdisciplinary approach including daily huddles to review individualized patient care plans and weekly team conferences
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
* Utilize safe patient handling equipment including Sara Steady and similar lifts (no overhead lifts)
* 24-hour orientation provided
* One pre-approved time off request permitted
Facility:
This academic medical center operates a dedicated inpatient rehabilitation unit with 25 beds, maintaining a daily census of approximately 15 patients. The facility offers a comprehensive interdisciplinary rehabilitation program supported by a full spectrum of ancillary services including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. A case manager and medical director are present on the unit, and the facility emphasizes individualized patient care planning through daily huddles and weekly team conferences to help patients achieve maximum independence and return home.
