Job Details:

* Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty required
* Level 1 trauma center experience required, or experience in a teaching facility or high-volume facility
* Experience with trauma surgical patient populations and abdominal transplant patient populations required
* Some transplant experience required in at least one of the following: liver, renal, or bone marrow transplant
* Solid orthopedic trauma and wound vac experience required
* Telemetry experience required, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
* Must be familiar with drips including heparin, insulin, and cardiac drips (no titration)
* Preferred experience with wound care, fracture care, post-surgical skills, traction, and patient mobility
* Tracheostomy care and management strongly preferred
* BiPAP/CPAP management experience preferred
* Patient ratio is 4:1 on days, nights, and weekends
* Self-scheduling format
* 6 weekend shifts per contract required
* Will be expected to work 3 of 5 winter holidays
* Candidates may float within the hospital or to an affiliate hospital nearby
* Adults-only patient population
* 20-bed unit with a daily census of 20
* Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
* Travel experience required
* Local travelers within 100 miles are not accepted
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, TNCC
* Compact or Kentucky state license required
* Required compliance exams: EKG Onboarding Exam, Math Exam, Med/Pharmacology Exam, Progressive Care Competency Exam, Progressive Care Skills, and CORE Exams

Facility:

This facility is a Level 1 trauma center with a dedicated surgical and transplant patient care unit. The unit specializes in treating adult patients with trauma or acute care surgical conditions, including injuries from blunt and penetrating trauma, solid abdominal organ transplants (liver, kidney, and pancreas), and vascular and non-elective orthopedic surgeries. The facility supports a robust interdisciplinary team and maintains high standards of care through comprehensive compliance and competency requirements.
