Oncology Infusion Medical Assistant

Job Details:

* Day shift, 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday
* 40-hour orientation with 32 hours on the floor
* Caribbean Blue scrubs required (not provided by facility)
* EPIC documentation and SBAR communication used
* 2 years of experience required
* Required certification: BLS (AHA only, no HeartCode)
* Required experience: Adult Outpatient Oncology, 12 Lead ECG, Hearing Screening, Height/Weight, Pulse Oximetry, Vision Testing, Vital Signs (Blood Pressure, Respirations, Temperature, Pulse), Record History/Medications/Allergies, Biopsy, Dressing Change, Labeling of Specimens, Urine - UA/Clean Catch, Venipuncture, Blood Glucose via Glucometer, Pregnancy, Strep, Urine Dipstick/Urinalysis, Authorization Forms, Insurance Verification, Pharmacy Calls/Patient Refill Requests, Telephone Triage, Administration of Medications, Follow-Up Phone Calls, Rooming Patients, Review Lab Tests
* Preferred skills: OB/GYN, Immunizations, Intradermal, Intramuscular
* Float required within competency
* Interdisciplinary support available including interpretation services, phlebotomy, social services, pharmacy, and unit secretary
* Patients include adults and geriatrics
* One pre-approved time off allowed per contract

This facility is a fast-paced outpatient oncology infusion clinic specializing in both non-oncologic infusions and chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments. The clinic manages solid mass and hematologic cancer diagnoses and is supported by an in-house interdisciplinary team including pharmacy, social services, and nurse practitioner coverage. The organization is committed to delivering high-quality, comprehensive oncology care to adult and geriatric patient populations.
