Opportunity:

RRT - ECMO Specialist

Job Details:

* 3x12 night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM with occasional day shift coverage as needed
* Minimum 2 years RRT experience and 1 year ECMO Specialist experience required
* First-time travelers accepted with minimum 1 year ECMO Specialist experience
* Will work every other weekend
* No on-call requirements
* Will float as needed to meet facility needs
* Must live more than 100 miles from facility to apply
* Pending license accepted but must be active at start
* Requested time off ideally no more than 5 days
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, RRT, and State License
* Epic/Excellian charting experience required
* Scrub color: Ceil Blue (provided by facility) or Olive Green (traveler's own)
* Required work setting experience: Adult Critical Care
* Required airway management skills: Endotracheal tube/suctioning, extubation, intubation assist, nasal airway placement, nasal airway suctioning, oral airway placement, oropharyngeal suctioning, pulmonary hygiene, sputum specimen collection, and tracheostomy/suctioning
* Required patient care experience: ARDS, aspiration, bronchoscopy, ECMO, fresh tracheostomy, and pneumonia
* Required medication administration skills: Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, inhaled Flolan, inhaled steroids, Mucomyst, Nitric Oxide (INo), Pulmicort, racemic epinephrine, Spiriva, Tobramycin, and Xopenex
* Required medication delivery system skills: Aerosol set up mask and aerosol set up trach
* Required nebulizer skills: Cold, hand held, heated, ultrasonic, T-piece, and trach collar
* Required oxygen therapy skills: Bag and mask, ET tube, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), portable oxygen tank, protocol driven ECMO, T-piece, and trach collar
* Arterial puncture experience required
* Required ventilator management skills: BiPAP, CPAP, patient transport (inter-departmental and ambulance), SIMV, troubleshooting high pressure alarms, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
* Required professional knowledge and skills: ABG interpretation, chest physiotherapy, chest physiotherapy vest, and drawing arterial blood gases
* Special procedures include VV ECMO
* Special equipment: CardioHelp
* Patient age groups served: Adults and geriatrics
* 1 supervisor reference minimum required at time of submission

Facility:

This short-term acute care facility is a Magnet-designated, teaching hospital with Level III Trauma capabilities and 672 staffed beds. The facility offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, unit secretaries, and more. The organization maintains high standards of patient care and utilizes Epic/Excellian as its charting system.
