Opportunity:

RN - Med/Surg

Job Details:

* 3x12 hour night shifts
* Weekend coverage required with 2 shifts per pay period, flexible with department needs
* Patient ratio of 1:6 for days, nights, and weekends
* 2 years of experience preferred
* Travel experience preferred, no local candidates within 50-mile radius
* Charting system: Epic (required)
* Required certifications: BLS
* Trauma Level II experience preferred
* Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
* Manage patient diagnoses including sepsis, CIWA, confusion/AMS, COPD, post-op care, AKI, trauma, respiratory failure, bowel obstruction, pyelonephritis, cardiac conditions, diabetes, GI conditions, isolation, and SI with medical indications
* Required skills include accessing/managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line blood draw, chest tube management, colostomy/ileostomy care, continuous bladder irrigation, feeding tube care, heparin and insulin administration, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, PICC line management, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, and use of rapid response/code teams
* Float to other units as long as competencies are met
* Must be able to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
* Must demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and critical thinking skills
* Proficiency in computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, and electronic medical records software required

This facility operates a 48-bed unit with a daily census of 48 patients, supported by a comprehensive interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation. The facility is committed to maintaining high standards of patient safety and care delivery across a broad range of medical conditions and diagnoses.
